Late Sh. Munshi Ram Aggarwal (Lakhpati)

It is a coeducational urban college and till almost thirty years of its inception it served well and had good financial footing. However, the Trust could not bear the burden of enhanced expenditures and gradually started to feel a financial crisis which ultimately compelled it to hand over the college to Government of Punjab in June 1983. It proved to be a new lease to the college. The objectives of the college are to promote the values of nationalism, secularism and universal brotherhood and also to impart moral and ethical education, respecting the culture and religious heritage of the land. So the main aim is all round development of the students.
The UGC recognized M.R. Government College under its clauses 2 (f) and 12(b) in 1957. It is government funded college affiliated to Punjab University, Chandigarh. This is a bi-faculty, co-educational under-graduate college imparting traditional and vocational education.
